rumors

some " rumors" from reliable sources.

first, is a prominent member of this year's team considering transferring? My sources tell me yes. The decision is only days away and if it happens, you will surprised on who and where?

second, was Arnold aware of certain " recruiting restrictions" placed on Nash"s staff? Things like no non-predictors? I am told he was not and it will seriously impact his recruiting possibilities unless this and other restrictions are lifted.

Third, exactly what is the status of Ganot? I am told he was offered " some" position under Arnold, but at a salary level that has made it likely that he is considering " other options" outside of Hawaii.

As a member of the United States Basketball Writers Association, i got to vote for Player, Newcomer, and Coach of the year. i went three for three as Evan Turner of Ohio State, John Wall of Kentucky, and Jim Boeheim all were honored. I will be at the USBWA breakfast in Indy where the awards will be presented.

Tonight i will at the Eastern Regional Semi-Finals in Syracuse. Lots of talk about the Cornell-Kentucky matchup, but lots more interest in Syracuse's game in Salt Lake

Thanks for the interesting rumors, even you are far away at the regionals. Is Hiram going ? Also, it may be hard to improve on Nash, Wheeler & Ganot's recruiting if the new coach is restricted as much as Nash was, as he pointed out in an Advertiser interview.

For 20 years, Wheeler did a pretty good job of recruiting for Riley and Bob such as Anthony Harris, Tony Maroney, Trevor Ruffin, Anthony Carter, Troy Ostler, Michael Kuebler, and Julian Sensley, Rod Flemings. Harris led the WAC in scoring during the 1995-96 season, while Maroney was the league’s rebounder in 94-95, per UH website. Also Matt Lojeski, per the other paper.

    hmmm?

amis has stated that he will stay put. after all he only has one year left.

thompson is his good buddy and has not made a public statement either way. he too has but one year left.

williams has one year, however, he may not be invited back for all the attitude he carried on his shoulders.

lay whimped out at the end and basically quit. he also has one year left.

the latter two, if you ask me are on the bubble. maybe the university don't want them back.

kurtz also has one year left. i believe they will keep him in light of roese becoming the new assc coach who is brazilian and will recruit their.

xiang will graduate on an accelerated pace this may and just might go back home.

johnson sat out last year so he could go anywhere they want him. however, he has stated that he would stay.

milovic is a question mark and he too could go anywhere and play immediately. not sure if he will be asked to stay???

the likely candidates would be the last two. i know many will guess thompson, but, he would have to go to a d2 or naia program to be eligible.

    ah, just wait and see.

a lot depends on who's coming for dinner. if three or more jc guys then more returnees will leave or be asked to leave. we could end up with 6-8 new players.

i am sure that miah is interested.
