Its Time For Hoopstalk

As threatened in July, Hoopstalk is back for another season here at the StarAdvertiser and on ESPN 1420. Our first show will be this Thursday at 6pm and our very special in studio guest will be Head Coach Gib Arnold. Join Jackson Wheeler and me as we catch up with the UH Basketball summer trip, recruiting, scheduling, and the early season prospects for the basketball bows coming off a 19 win season.
The blog will appear several times a week before the season starts in November, and then more often as the season swings into gear. You can expect the blog to present my thoughts and opinions, even those you may disagree with, and to encourage all of you to weigh in with your comments.
This is not an official UH site, and if you were a reader last year, you know i tell it as i see it, even when a know some you will disagree. Hopefully much of what we talk about here will be positive, but dont be shocked if an occasional criticism slips in.
The weekly show and the blog will discuss not only UH basketball, but National College Basketball as well. Like last year, we will have many Mainland coaches as guests, and hope to have Gib on the show every week, if possible.
With a credit to Vince Scully ( the best sports announcer in history in my opinion), " its time for UH Basketball".

When does basketball start practice. I saw UNLV on tv while in Vegas practicing and interviewing with uniforms on too. Truthfully, I didn't see or the media did not interview any coaches. I thought it started somewhere around the 15 of October.

find out from the Gibster when he plans to go on the mainland and European recruiting trip which was mentioned in one of the columns, unless he has already and if he made some good inroads on it.

I guess nobody wants to say anything about UNLV's practices, but they did it to themselves. They were on statewide TV. In today's SA, BM states that practice starts on October 15.
